About Me: My name is Cindy Thomas. Actually, that’s my pseudonym. If there wasn’t so much stigma against mental illness, I would blog under my real name. I have a graduate degree in the social sciences. I have studied psychology, sociology, and social work.
I started writing about 20 years ago. Since then, I’ve written sporadically and for various reasons. I’ve written to escape, hide, express anger, and vent frustration. I’ve written because I was anxious or depressed and didn’t know what else to do with myself.
Now I write because I enjoy it. It is therapeutic. I see it as a way to prevent slipping into anxiety and depression. I write sort through my experiences, feelings, and thoughts. Otherwise, I too often get stuck in unproductive (circular or overly negative) thinking.
About This Blog: This is one of three blogs. Cindy, Dating is where I rant and rave about current and past dating and relationship experiences. That’s probably the most interesting and definitely the most popular blog on my web site. I created Cindy, Working as a place to write specifically about work, since whether I like it or not, it is a big part of my daily life. And finally, Cindy, Living is where I write anything and everything I feel compelled to write about that doesn’t fit into the previous categories.
